The Rescue Room and Bethlehem Complex

The Urban Cultural Circuit is made up of the Cuarto del Rescate, the only Inca building in the city, and the Belén Complex built in the first half of the 18th century, made up of the Belén Church, the Men’s Hospital and the Women’s Hospital, architectural jewels of the Cajamarquino Baroque style, facilities that are currently the exhibition rooms and the Andrés Zevallos art gallery. Our collection brings together various archaeological, historical, artistic and ethnographic assets.

Important information

The tour includes: Rescue Room, Belén Church, Japanese Archaeological Mission Room in Cajamarca and Andrés Zevallos Pinacoteca in the Former Men’s Hospital, rooms: Archaeological, Ethnographic and Behind the Costume in the Former Women’s Hospital of the Belén Complex .
The tour can be done independently or by hiring the private and optional service of an official tourist guide.

Restrictions and Recommendations

The ticket is valid only for the reserved date during the established opening hours.
The ticket does not include tourist guidance service.
Verification of the corresponding accreditation will be carried out in the case of tickets for higher level students, teachers and other types of special rates.
The facilities are currently not accessible to people with motor or visual disabilities.
The facilities do not have internal parking services, personal belongings storage, cafeteria or food vending machines.
Taking photographs is allowed in all rooms; However, the use of flash is restricted in the Bethlehem Church.
The entry of food is not allowed.
Pets are not allowed.
There is a space for the exhibition and sale of crafts and books (Cajamarca history and literature) during MUA Sundays in support of local artists.

We have two ticket offices, one in the Cuarto del Rescate (Jr. Amalia Puga 750) and another in the Belén Monumental Complex (Jr. Junin S/N Cuadra 14).
To have a better experience, it is required that groups of visitors do not exceed 30 people.
